Bianca's Actually in Berlin (week 24)

WE'RE IN THE BIGGEST CITY IN THE WOOOOORLD!!

Not really (but really), Berlin is HUGE. Our area contains what one would call the "ghetto." Neukölln is ghetto. Neukölln is sketch. Neukölln is gangster. It's not as sketchy as having to stay inside after 6 p.m. (where we live is actually relatively normal) but it's undeniably the armpit of Berlin. It's prime pickings for stickers on poles.

I spent my first days in this area sick. I woke up Wednesday morning just plain sick. From Wednesday until today, we've had one appointment (with a young woman from Vietnam! I just can't seem to get away from these wonderful Asians ;)), and the rest of the time has been spent FINDING. Finding itself isn't much fun but being sick while finding is just really no fun at all. Thankfully the sickness seems to have passed and I'm ready to get down and dirty with this place. We don't actually have a lot of investigators or people to teach, regardless of how many people are in this area, so we've got a lot of work to do. I'm excited to give this place a face lift and make it look a little more like, I don't know, Hildesheim. :)

My new companion, Sister Meyer, is a dream. She's 24, from Ogden, super cute and super fun and just a ball of energy. She's already helped me out so much. She only has two more transfers left, so from what it's looking like right now, I'll be "killing" her in October (mission lingo for sending someone home :)).

I miss Hildesheim so much. Neukölln and Hildesheim are sooo different. For example, in Hildesheim, we rode our bikes absolutely everywhere, and the only other mode of transportation is by bus. In Neukölln, we take a bus and the subway to even get from our apartment to where we normally work. I used to think that I was a small-town girl, but this great big city is growing on me. But don't you all worry (Emily, Isabel, ich weiss, dass ihr beide jetzt lest... :) sorgt nicht!) Hildesheim has my whole heart. :)

It still blows my mind that I'm here, I'm in Berlin, I'm in Germany, I'm on a mission...

I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I don't know what more I could ask for.

The church is true!

Sister Seamons
I always wanted an older brother... I got an Asian one. :)
I love them. They love me. We're a happy family. :)
