Sorry for complaining so much in my last email. Apparently I'm not good with dealing with change. Things are going better.
Monday night we got completely blindsided by a text from President Kosak, giving us all permission to watch the Germany vs. USA soccer game on Thursday... We called Hoang and Emily up and bought a bunch of food and met them at Hoang's apartment to take full advantage of the opportunity. I was rooting for Germany. They won. I'm pretty sure it was cause I was cheering.
We met a semi-drunk man on a bench last Saturday and talked to him for about an hour, got his address, invited him to church, but he didn't show. About the same time this past Saturday we were biking through the same park when we saw him again... We sat down, read from the scriptures, and invited him to church again. He didn't come, but it was still a miracle that we found him again.
I got a German drivers license! Legally able to drive on German roads. Watch out!
On Wednesday, we realized we had a little extra time between two appointments, so we decided to call "KLS" and stop by. While he was feeding us cherries from trees in his backyard, he told us that he had a thought earlier in the day that he wanted two people to come over and eat cherries with him. About an hour later, we called and said we'd be coming over. It's so cool to be answers to people's prayers, and making "KLS" happy is something that makes me really happy. :) Unfortunately, he's going to France this weekend and won't be back for over a month. I don't know what I'm gonna do without my Chinese Opa!
We met with "R" three times this week. He's still progressing a lot, he took the Word of Wisdom like a champ, and has been walking an hour both ways to meet us at the church. In the rain. I don't know of many other 17 year olds in this world who would do that to meet with two crazy 20ish religion-fanatic girls and talk about God. Hopefully he'll be baptized soon.
This past week Josh hit his one year mark and all of a sudden we started the downhill journey.
I'm definitely learning how to be a hard working missionary. I'm so glad my first two companions in the field are super hard workers. We're seeing miracles here in little Hildesheim. This mission has been the best thing that's ever happened to me. Everyone everywhere should take the opportunity to serve a mission.
