Things are really, really different without Sister Stuart. I miss her.
Sister Schwantes is a SUPER hard worker. I thought Sister Stuart and I worked
our backsides off (and we totally did), but this is ridiculous.
This week we did a lot of missionary work. We knocked on more doors in
these 5 days than I have in my first two transfers. I honestly don't know what
more to say about what's been happening here--things took a drastic turn for the
boring. Langweilig. Help. I'm dying.
Earlier today we went to a concentration camp called Bergen-Belsen, north
of Hannover, where Anne Frank actually passed away. There weren't any buildings
left, but we walked around the grounds where the barracks used to be and saw
some memorials. There was definitely a somber feeling, but I didn't get the full
effect until we went into the exhibit and just saw videos and pictures of
thousands of naked corpses being dragged and thrown into huge ditches and
children being starved literally to death. If that doesn't humble a man, then I
don't know what will. I'm so grateful to have the testimony that I have and to
have the amazing opportunity to share the light the Gospel brings to these
people.
WELP, I'm just gonna send a ton of pictures to make up for the boring-ness
of my life lately. Hopefully that'll suffice.
Tschüßi,
Sister Seamons
