Ich bin ein großer Vogel (week 4)

How is it p-day again. The weeks fly by and the days drag on. In other news, this Wednesday I will have been a missionary for ONE MONTH. Ha... Ha... what? I think everyday I tell my companions, "What is life?" because sometimes being a missionary is super weird. Always great though.

Monday March 10
We did initiatories, emailed, laundry, napped... Typical p-day. For class today we had my favorite Bruder G. (I LOVE my teachers so absolutely much, but this guy. He's fab). We felt like he was ripping on us the whole night, telling us we don't know the BM good enough, that we don't use our planners good enough, etc. I'm making it sound worse than it was but it was like a slap in the face. Obviously we're not perfect missionaries or people or anything, but we try, but we need to try harder. We can always do a little more to be a little better (I think that's a quote from Pres. Hinckley?)

Tuesday March 11
Happy Birthday my dear Hailey James! When we came out of gym this morning, it was snowing the tiniest bit and a bunch of Asians were pooping their pants hahahahaha ah it was the funniest thing. We taught D. (Brd. G) today about the Book of Mormon, almost trying to redeem ourselves from the night before but also because we had already been planning on it haha. It went great. He agreed to read the Book of Mormon every day!

Wednesday March 12
We had TRC this morning and two of the members we taught this week were the ones we taught last week. They're awesome! The other one was from Nürnberg but moved to America in the 50's so he doesn't know Opa and Oma. In other news, one of the Elders in our zone, Elder T, who is the weirdest, craziest person I've ever ever met, told us what he knew about us in the short time that we've been in the MTC. Surprisingly he was SPOT ON. Since he was so spot on, I asked him what he thought my soul mate would be like, and let me tell you. He described Josh perfectly. I swear it seems like the weirdest thing but dang. I was floored. Haha so that was the highlight of this week probably.

Thursday March 13
I cleaned drinking fountains for service this morning. I also got MAIL for the first time this week... You people are slacking. Step it up. I got to talk to Taylor S. in between class today. OH and this morning, I woke up to someone breathing really loudly until I realized that it was myself. Hahahah awkward. In other news, there is no German word for awkward. So that's awkward. We taught the Elders in our district as investigators and it was rough. The lesson ruined my whole night and I felt so inadequate and bummed out. That's life here in the MTC--constant ups and downs, all the while time is being super funky.

Friday March 14
I got the best package today! Thank you mom! It was perfect! My comps were all jealous. One of our teachers/investigators has been sick all week so we haven't been able to teach him. Instead, the Elders pretended to be him and we taught them. It went okay and it was great practice for when our teacher is healthy again. At 10:00 at night, some foreigner burned popcorn in a microwave so our whole building had to be evacuated. We had to go hang out in the gym for 20 minutes, and some girls were in the shower when the alarm went off, so they were in their robes and towels with wet hair. Some had to go rinse shampoo out of their hair in the sinks. Crazy stuff.

Saturday March 15
This morning we skipped gym and slept in cause some of the sisters didn't feel good. So today started off great. Today we planned on asking D to be baptized AGAIN, and since we know that whenever we ask, he always gets around actually answering, we asked him, "Werden sie sich taufen lassen?" (Will you be baptized?) in the most straightforward way we could. He still got around actually answering. Come on bro! He agreed to come to church though! Instead of studying tonight for an hour, we talked to my favorite Elder in the zone, Elder B. He's so great.

Sunday March 16
Sacrament was normal this morning. When we were waiting for meetings/interviews, we went outside and enjoyed the sun and basically just hung out. Our zone is great when they're not being disobedient. We went to the temple really quick and came back so we could lay out in the sun instead of going to dinner. I read the Fourth Missionary while everyone else was napping. Great stuff.

Well this week was great and fun and fulfilling, but it was also so hard and humbling and rough. That's what it's like to be a missionary. Learning a language is SO HARD. So. Hard. I've been praying every night to become more humble, and the every day, the Lord turns up the heat even more than the day before. I'm so grateful to be here as a missionary. If you had the experiences that I have had and am having, you would never miss a day of scripture study, you would never forget to pray, you would never let a prompting go without action. If you give your heart to the Lord, "He will make of you, immeasurably more, than what you will ever, ever, in all eternity, make of yourself" (The Fourth Missionary). I give my testimony that this gospel is true. Christ Himself leads this Church. Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, he saw God the Father and Jesus Christ, and by the power of God, he translated the Book of Mormon, the most correct of any book. If you place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, you will never fail. Of this I testify.

Much love,
Sister Bianca Seamons

Quote of the week:
Bruder G sat in the desk next to Sis. B for a teaching exercise, and she was like, "Ah, I feel so short sitting by you. You're so tall." And he said (in German), "Yeah, I am a big......bird." I bust out laughing SO HARD but no one else understood what he said hahaha ah it was hilarious.
