I'm Learning Portuguese (week 34)

Neukölln is taking off! We've been seeing a lot of miracles, small and big, this past week. One of my favorite tender mercies of this past week was the great opportunity to be with my trainer on exchanges which ended up being on her 22nd birthday! :) We celebrated by eating THE BEST döner of my life. If any of you do not know what a döner is, you're sorely missing out. It's one of the perks of living in Little Turkey!

As a mission, we have a goal to reach 125 baptisms in the mission before the end of the year. In order for us to reach this goal, every companionship needs to have at least one baptism, which leads into Sister Hashimoto's and my companionship goal of having one baptism before training is over. Yesterday we fasted for this very purpose, that we could find someone who was ready to be baptized. At church yesterday, we were sitting before sacrament meeting and a member turned to us and mentioned that there was a woman from Spain who just moved here with her husband who is a member and who would love to be taught by the missionaries to become a member! We've also have a lot of great investigators who aren't yet progressing, mostly because we haven't met with them yet, but have a lot of potential.

Oh ya, in addition to this woman who speaks Spanish, we have a less-active who is from Portugal and speaks Portuguese, and an old investigator who is also back on the map who's from Mallorca and speaks Spanish, and another woman we met on the street who's from Brazil like my companion, so it looks like I'm supposed to learn a third language. My companion is teaching me Portuguese!!

Who would've thought? An Asian teaching an American Portuguese in Germany. Ha! We're quite the pair.

That's about it for this week...

Life is good! Life is great! Hear from you next week!

I love my compy-comp!
