Simmering Down (week 37)

Things have definitely cooled down this week. In fact this week was actually a little boring! But among the exciting things that happened include:

1. Saying goodbye to my dear Sister Meyer! She went home this week! She stayed with us for a few days before her parents picked her up. Oh how I miss her.

2. We celebrated President Kosak's birthday on Halloween. It was actually kind of weird because there was Mission Leadership Council so all of the zone leaders and sister training leaders were having a big meeting and us peasants got to come and sing happy birthday but then got kicked out.

3. Our wonderful Bishop got suddenly released...and no new bishop was called...not sure what's going on.

4. Quick little story and Martha and Luis: they've been living with their friend from Spain but all of a sudden this friend went a little crazy and told them they had to move out and find a new place to live...in one week. Well in Berlin it's absolutely crazy to find an apartment (even ours is out in the middle of nowhere) so they have been scrambling to try and find somewhere to live...then we taught them about fasting and two days later they fasted together! And they found somewhere to live! A social worker is letting them stay with her and helping them find an apartment. How great is that?!

5. While finding, we talked to this Muslim guy on the street (my favorite) and I swear, I've never born so much hardcore testimony in my whole life. I was quoting scripture and everything. He was convinced that Christ is not the Son of God, but I told him with as much fervor as I could, that YES, He is! And they he tried to tell us that we wouldn't notice if someone changed a word in the Book of Mormon, which would be the case with any other normal book, but with this book, nope! The words themselves don't spell out TRUTH, but the feeling you get inside when you read does. It is a true book, the most true book. As he held the Book of Mormon in his hands and looked me straight in the eye and asked, "do you really know this book is true?" and as I was able to stare unblinkingly back at him and say, " I know that the Book of Mormon is true," the Spirit testified to me that it really was. I felt power behind my words. I know that the Book of Mormon is true.

Not much else for this slow week...it's not that we're not doing anything though! We're busy! Just not with the most exciting things. :)

So...Christmas is next month. Well I bought TWO advent calendars—one for November and one for December! Can't wait to bust out the Christmas music!
