Serving. Traveling. Finding. (week 47)

First transfer in Greifswald has come and gone, and it looks like Sister Barlow and I are in for another one together. Transfer calls happened and nothing changed.

My last transfer can only be described in three words: serving, traveling, and finding.

What I love about Greifswald is that we really do serve so much. We rake leaves at a cemetery every week and then serve Frau Braasch every week as well. I remember during my first transfer with Sister Stuart when we were weeding at a member's house, she said, "If you had been doing missionary work for as long as I have, you would definitely appreciate a little garden work more." And it's totally true. Serving is really nice.

In the past transfer we've gone back to Berlin a total of three times. This past week we went to Neubrandenburg for District Conference and stayed the night. Not to mention our area covers these other two larger cities where we work regularly. Basically it hasn't ever been more than a few days before we've found ourselves going SOMEWHERE on a train—not that that's bad (I actually really love train rides :)), but it makes it really hard to get back into the swing of things when you're used to just chilling on a train the whole day.

FINDING=THIS TRANSFER. I've never done so much street contacting in my whole life. I looked back on my planner and realized—we've had one appointment in the last two weeks. We've had only 4 appointments in the last month. Literally, the rest of our lives have been spent SERVING, TRAVELING, OR FINDING.

Highlight of the week though was when Elder Kopischke of the Seventy and his wife did a mission tour and we got to hear from them both—three times! Once in Berlin and twice in Neubrandenburg. It was really really cool to hear from him both in English and in German PLUS he was the Germany Berlin Mission president over ten years ago, and he still had some cool stories about Greifswald and Berlin and this area, etc. Definitely a treat.

Not too much else to report seeing as we didn't have a single appointment this week. Greifswald is sort of becoming the refiner's fire for me. I'm learning what it means to "give it your all and leave the rest to the Lord." We'll see how this week goes.

Over and out,
Sister Seamons

10+ hours of train travel in a week makes you kinda crazy...
