We were in the subway the other day going to visit a Greek lady, when I had the impression that we should get off a stop early and just walk the rest of the way. No idea why, but we did it. We got out onto the busy street and pulled out a map and were looking at it, trying to find this street, when a man came up to us and asked us where we wanted to go. He explained how we could get there and right after we thanked him, he started walking away and said, "See you at stake conference!" That sneaky guy was a member! :) It made our whole entire day. We did streeting the rest of the day, didn't find a single new investigator, and it ended up being kinda a rough day, but we kept looking back at that miracle that happened right as we got outside, and we remembered that God had been watching out for us and preparing us for what was to come. Through listening to a simple prompting, we were blessed for the rest of the day. That's a great feeling.
We were blessed in many other ways this week. One of our investigators bought us flowers and told them to give them to people, so we took them around with us while we were finding and left a few at a previous investigator's who is sick, a member who made us some legit German food last week, and a less-active we visited. I don't want to forget what it feels like to leave some flowers and a thank you card on the doorstep of a widowed German grandma, just knowing that Christ would probably do the same thing if He were here.
As for my lovely companion... Sister Hashimoto is so so great. She's already speaking in lessons and forming relationships with members and talking with people on the street. She's a superstar. And she says 'Oh snap!' and 'weiss nicht' (dunno) all the time, haha. We had to go to the dentist on Wednesday cause her gums were pussing and we found out she needed a root canal... The female dentist (haha, Sister Meyer ;)) just started drilling a hole in her tooth and my comp is like, "hey, um that hurts... can't I have a shot or something?" Haha. We have to go back the next three weeks so they can clean out her tooth. It's cool.
Well, like I mentioned earlier, we had stake conference yesterday, and even though we left our house half an hour earlier than we needed to, we got jipped on all the busses and trains and ended up showing up 40 minutes late... which for me just felt like the biggest failure. But while I was being frustrated and upset, Sister Hashimoto was cool as a cucumber and was just like, "Sister Seamons, get it together. We'll get there." Now I understand what Sister Stuart felt like when we were an hour away from home and my foot was the size of a watermelon and our bikes were stolen and we lost our phone... haha, that's still to this day my favorite mission story to tell.
ANYWAY. I feel like I'm in the prime of my mission. Things are going great—thanks for asking. ;)
ICH HAB SIE ALLE LIEB! DIE KIRCHE IST WAHR!
