"I want to go up!" (week 39)

This is gonna be a short email cause I don't have a lot of time...I'll focus on the highlights of this week.

I don't know if you remember from a few weeks ago about this crazy member that called me a liar in front of a member of the stake presidency? Well...somehow we got roped into going to her house for an eating appointment with the Elders. There's this rule that Sisters or Elders can't be in a house without three people of the opposite gender or one of the same gender. Well. The Elders made out this appointment with this old woman and called us a few hours before saying that they needed us to come so there'd be three of us and two of them. So we go and this old woman is stuffing us with SO MANY PASTRIES and then asks us to help her get some plates and says to the Elders, "No no, the girls will help me, you men stay sitting down. The girls will do it!" One of the Elders thought that was pretty cool and starts leaning back in his chair with his hands behind his head when the chair itself just breaks out from underneath him! And he fell straight onto the floor! Hahaha, well we all busted out laughing and just couldn't keep it in for the next ten minutes or so as we were just stuffing our faces with pastries to keep the giggles in. Sister Hashimoto couldn't really contain it though and tried to cover it up with coughing and this old member is totally oblivious and asks, "she just likes to laugh, huh?" haha...good stuff.

We have this great investigator from Pakistan named "K". He's seventeen years old and is living here in Berlin by himself because his family still lives in Pakistan. His story, man...when he was 14 years old, he WALKED from Pakistan to Greece BY HIMSELF, lived in Greece for a year and a half where he learned Greek, and then walked from Greece to Germany. He got word a few weeks ago that his mother was killed in some shoot-out in Pakistan. He's working here in Berlin on the weekends so that someday he can afford to bring his father and sister here to Germany with him. Man. "K". When we were teaching him about the plan of salvation, we asked him which of the three kingdoms he wanted to go into. He said, "I want to go up!" I am so blessed to be able to associate myself with so many wonderful people. I love them so much I would do ANYTHING for them.

Wish I had some more time. Sorry no pictures for this week.

The church is true!
