I'll spare you all the trouble and just spill the news... yep, I've been transferred!
I'm heading to HALLE (pronounced pretty much exactly the same as HOLLA), right next to Leipzig, located on the Saale river. Ahhh, I'm looking at pictures right now... it looks like heaven. I'm so excited!!! Not only do we have a university, but it's also the where the composer Georg Friederich Händel was born and raised. Man. This is going to be so much fun. My companion is Sister Egbert—she's from the same group as Sister Hashimoto and Sister Jensen AND Elder Fowler (current district leader and best friend on the mission). I guess this group was the group I should've been in but wasn't because I was too old on the mission haha. I'm so ready to start peeling off the winter clothes and digging deep into my last area and season on the mission... It's going to be great.
But back to this week...
If you thought a partial solar eclipse was exciting enough to experience, this week we got a text from President saying that there was a hurricane warning for Northern Germany... Tuesday morning we had crazy blizzard/snowness so we just stayed inside and did area book work and stuff like that. The rest of the day was just super windy. Then Wednesday we had to go to Neubrandenburg for zone training meeting. Three of our trains fell out because of "unwetter" or "bad weather"—it was just so windy, I guess the trains couldn't run, or something! We ended up having to be picked up by car from our layover stop because NO TRAINS were leaving that place. We were out of the apartment for over 12 hours—3 of those hours were spent in the meeting, 4 were spent travelling, and the other 5 were spent...waiting. Because of "bad weather." That was an adventure. It's a good thing the Elders were there to keep us company, we had way too much fun. :)
But there's nothing to worry about—there were no hurricanes, just a lot of wind. Made for an interesting week.
Man, did you guys WATCH conference?! SO GOOD!! We haven't watched the last session yet, but we got to watch the first three in Englisch!! My personal favorite talk was from President Uchtdorf on Grace, followed closely by Elder Holland's on Christ. But they were all just so good. I love conference. That's actually something that helps me keep motivated—I'm inviting these people to learn about the gospel, and if they accept, they get to not only be a part of Christ's true church and enjoy the blessings of the restored gospel but they can watch conference and love it as much as I do. :) #LDSconf
Welp. We've come to the end of the fastest and funnest transfer of my mission. The 4 of us here in Greifswald became the closest of friends and all needed each other at this time in our missions. I'm going to miss them more than I'd like to admit.
But Halle is waiting, Halle is calling, and I must go. Can't wait to see what's waiting for me there. I'm ready to give the last 4 months of my mission a kick in the pants.
The church is true, I know it. I know that Christ lives. God lives, He IS there. His plan is perfect. Trust Him—He who is the most trustworthy of all.
